About us
It all began with a simple idea fuelled by a deep passion. As a small business, I pride myself on personal attention and dedication to every detail. My approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.
I have always been in love with Africa and dreamed of many safari holidays when I was young. I managed to add Africa into many of my life highlights including getting married in Kenya, nearly 20 years ago, signing up for a Conservation Masters which included a Kenya field trip, and running 14 college/university field trips to South Africa.
I am a fully qualified post-16 tutor and have taught in land-based education within the UK for the last 16 years. I have taught Levels 3-7 in a range of topics including animal behaviour, behavioural ecology (my favourite subject) and conservation. I am currently studying part time at The University of Reading, with my PhD on the global use of medicinal mammals, with guess what, a chapter on African use.
I am also a Level 3 tutor at a local college in Manchester and have some great times with the students. I am exceptionally keen on student travel and having taken more than 160 students on South African field trips between 2012 and the present day, I would like to say I am experienced.
I have a great passion for travel and culture with Africa my favourite continent having visited Cape Verde, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa and Eswatini with a trip planned to Uganda in September this year. I am half way through my CATHSEETA Nature Guide NQF2 qualification with Bushwise, achieving 90% in my 23 modules and exams. I hope to carry out the practical hours over the next few years to become a fully qualified Nature Guide (under the International Field Guide Association, IFGA).
I hope to add more African countries to my portfolio in the near future including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe.... Watch this space!
